To work as part of a fast-paced production team, processing and packing products to meet daily production plan targets whilst ensuring all food hygiene and health and safety regulations are adhered to.

Responsibilities

To work as part of Production team, processing and packing products to meet daily production plan targets.

Ensure all factory QA documentation has been completed correctly.

Engage as a member of the team to ensure production targets are achieved.

Ensure all food hygiene/HACCP and good manufacturing processes are adhered to.

Carry out quality inspecting of product throughout production process.

Observe all company health and safety rules.

Always keep workspace clean and tidy.

Where appropriate conduct any reasonable task as instructed by any manager.

Experience

Food Hygiene Level 2 /HACCP certification or minimum 3 years experience in a food factory role

Previous experience of using food processing equipment required. e., sanitiser units, tumblers, weighing machines (vertical or multi head), VFFS packers, metal detectors.

Manual Handling/COSHH experience

Good attention to detail to ensure ongoing quality inspection of the product throughout production process.

Experience of good hygiene practices.

Systematic and organised approach to all tasks

Production Line Leader

Responsible to:  Production Manager

Description

To supervise all factory operatives within appropriate production area, whilst ensuring compliance to all quality assurance procedures that satisfy all relevant UK/EU food processing regulations and BRC Global Technical Standards for supply to retailer own branded products, food hygiene and health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Make on the spot decisions about quality and HACCP non conformances and carry out corrective actions necessary to isolate non conforming products.

Communicate all non conformances to departmental managers and document all corrective actions.

Deliver safety induction, on job quality assurance and hygiene training to staff members.

Ensure all factory QA documentation has been correctly completed, collated and filed.

Ensure that HACCP principles are implemented, reviewed and documented in accordance to required standards.

Maintain factory hygiene and quality manuals Conduct formal GMP inspections.

Conduct factory fabric register

Provide ongoing competency assessment of all production staff.

Identify training needs for external courses and/or provide mentoring/on the job training.

Ensure recipes are adhered to and traceability of materials is maintained.

Ensure factory scales are accurate and calibrated.

Ensure all temperature controls and recording equipment is correctly calibrated.

Read UK/EU food legislation bulletin updates, communicate and update relevant parts of the quality manual as needed.

Observe all company health and safety rules.

Keep work space clean and tidy at all times Safe guard Company Assets.

Where appropriate conduct any reasonable task as instructed by any manager.

Experience

Food Technology Qualification or Intermediate/advanced Food Hygiene/HACCP certification or minimum 3 years experience in a quality/supervisory role supplying packaged foods to UK Supermarkets.

Food Safety Certificate Level 2.

COSHH.

Previous experience of using food processing equipment essential. i.e. sanitiser units, euro tumblers, weighing machines (vertical or multi head), VFFS packers, checkweigher, metal detectors.

Strong Communication skills · Experience of delivering hygiene training to small groups and individuals.

Systematic and organised approach to all tasks.

PC, Outlook skills essential.

Very high level of verbal and written English communication skills essential.
